Plant was packed well and was in good condition. I ordered one of these Hostas from you before and the voles took care of it last year. This one I planted in a pot and have it close to the house. We also have problems with deer. I ordered three of these last week and they arrived today (Saturday). Well packaged, though I was expecting to see more green….like the photo someone else posted. Then I remembered they ship dormant. No big deal, I guess. There is a little leaf bud popping through the soil on each, so I’m sure they are all good. I am SO excited to get these in the ground, though I will be waiting until Mid-April, as I know Hosta are hardy, but it’s still below 32 degrees here at night. Overall, VERY happy with my purchase! Received healthy, good looking plants. One is blooming already! The deer ate two down to the ground despite my repellent directly over the leaves. I’m looking forward to the next several years’ growth to see them in their full size.—————————–We are so glad you are pleased! This is an absolutely GORGEOUS Empress Wu Hosta and she arrived to my doorstep lightening fast. But I’m super bummed because sadly, she arrived with 2 broken stems, and one of them was the largest, most beautiful stem/leaf on the entire plant (pics attached). I feel that the box this plant shipped in was the wrong size/shape for the size/shape of the Hosta and that’s what contributed to the damage. I cut the two bad stems and will repot her and continue to nurture her because despite the broken stems she’s still a wonderful, high quality plant that will absolutely continue to thrive and grow beautifully. Despite the packaging/damage, I still gave 5 stars because I’m still happy and in love with this plant and can’t wait until I can get her to grow to her 4’ tall, 6’ wide size, which is what makes this plant so exciting to own! Thanks again! ———— WBG Reply: Hi Katrina – Thanks so much for review. Sorry to hear about the two broken leaves on the Empress Wu. I’ve contacted our packaging manager and let him know to use a larger box and more packing materials when packaging hosta lilies. I also contacted our store manager and he’s sending you a $10 gift certificate you can use on your next order. Please keep us posted as to how the Empress Wu does this spring. Usually when a couple leaves are broken the plant will naturally put out more new leaves to replace the broken leaves. If the plant declines we’ll be more than happy to replace it for you. I have one Empress Wu in my own gardens and after two years it’s up to about 3 feet tall and 4 feet wide. very impressive hosta!
